3 extra screamers from this batch are reserved for the chariot platforms: 1 large screamer (chariot 1) and 2 standard screamers (chariot 2). Same paint scheme applies.

Paint Scheme
#

This will give a bright warp look for Screamers of Tzeentch serving Tzeentch.

3-Pass Screamer Scheme
#

(Primer + 3 airbrush passes)

Prep
#

Pin models and mount on a wooden board for batch airbrushing.

The metal pin doubles as a permanent flight base — the plan is to keep it in, hover the model semi-low, and paint the rod black so it disappears. Less intrusive than a clear plastic flight stand.

Models pinned and ready

Prime (color primer instead of white/black)
#

Use:

Vallejo Surface Primer – NATO Green

Why this works:

  • green gives a weird chaotic undertone
  • purple and blue over it look magical
  • shadows are already done

After NATO Green primer
NATO Green — the shadow tone is already built in

Airbrush Pass 1 — Warp Belly
#

Spray from below the model.

Don’t fully cover every corner — slight unevenness looks organic.

Paint:

  • Army Painter Crystal Blue

Mix 1:1 with medium for airbrush

Focus on:

  • belly
  • lower fins
  • tail underside

Let some green remain in shadows.

Result: green shadows → turquoise belly.

After Crystal Blue from below
Crystal Blue on the belly — turquoise showing, green still in the recesses

Airbrush Pass 2 — Top Skin
#

Spray from above.

Don’t fully cover every corner — slight unevenness looks organic.

Paint:

  • Army Painter Alien Purple

Mix 1:1 with medium for airbrush

Focus on:

  • back
  • top fins
  • tail

Leave blue showing on the sides.

Now you have:

green → blue → purple gradient

After Alien Purple from above
The three-colour gradient — green base, blue sides, purple top

Airbrush Pass 3 — Warp Glow
#

Light spray from front/top.

Paint:

  • Army Painter Daemonic Yellow

Hit only:

  • nose
  • mouth area
  • front fins

This creates instant magical color contrast.

Yellow glow on the front
Daemonic Yellow on the face and front fins

Ink Glazes
#

Glaze lightly with inks:

  • Liquitex Phthalocyanine Blue Ink → underside — deepens the teal and adds iridescence

After blue ink glaze
Phthalocyanine Blue ink — iridescent teal on the belly

  • Liquitex Quinacridone Magenta Ink → back — pushes the purple richer and warmer

After magenta ink glaze
Quinacridone Magenta ink on the back — deep purple-red result

Block in Skeleton Bone on eyes, teeth, and horns.

Eyes:

  • Skeleton Bone base
  • Glaze with yellow ink — gives them a glowing amber look
  • With a tiny line of black, gives them cat eyes

Teeth and horns:

  • Skeleton Bone base
  • Wash with Burnt Umber — pushes them warm and dirty, stops them reading as clean white
  • And then a partial coat of Skeleton Bone again for the tips …
